Grey Labels. Runouts are etched except the final single 'stamper' letters which are stamped. The A in variant 1 appears as the partially stamped Λ common to CBS Aston Clinton pressings. Produced at Advision Studio Published by DinSong Ltd/Virgin Music Publishers Ltd ℗ © 1980 DinDisc The original album version of "Messages" was due to be used. However, Andy McCluskey of the band objected to this version and wanted to re-record the song. The 10,000 copies cut with the original mix were scrapped and a new, radically different version was recorded under the control of producer Mike Howlett. "Taking Sides Again" is an instrumental 'dub' version of "Messages". The original releases had a two-tone grey label which listed Chester Valentino (aka Paul Collister) as producer. DinDisc had scrapped the original album mix but hadn't bothered amending the labels which should have correctly credited Mike Howlett. Later releases in a pink/white combination and later still in red, would correctly list Howlett.
